The Cloquet Country Club was established in 1923 by the Weyerhausers, who secured the land to build the first 9-hole course. It existed as a nine-hole course until 2002, when a second nine, designed by Joel Goldstrand, was added. Today the 6,649 yard, par 71 course offers a challenging course rating of 72.9 and slope of 130 from the tips. The course provides a unique layout with six demanding par three's to go along with five lengthy par five's all over 500 yards. Among the tall pines exists a challenging design that is our very own Cloquet Country Club.
In 2017, the golf course became 100% membership-owned. Membership historically has been around 200 members; during the pandemic, membership has risen to nearly 300. The Club offers an excellent opportunity for those Under 30 to join the Club at an amazing price. The best offer around for those young people looking for access to a great golf facility.
The Country club offers many events to get to know your fellow members. Ladies League is on Tuesdays, Men's League is Thursdays, and Couples Night on Friday evenings.
CCC believes in getting young people involved in the game of golf. The Club welcomes children of all skill levels and offers junior lesson programs and other opportunities for kids. Individuals or group lessons are also available. If you are looking to improve your game or have a question, talk with Bill. He provides quality golf instruction, which could be the best thing you could ever do for your golf game.
The Cloquet Country Club has excellent facilities and amenities: a Golf Shop with various golf brands of clothing, Golf Balls, Gloves, Hats, Clothing, Golf Bags, and a limited selection of Golf Clubs. The clubhouse has a full bar and restaurant and is open seasonally; and has housed many retirement parties, anniversaries, grad parties, birthdays, business meetings or luncheons, class reunions to members. Great outdoor space to gather after a round (overlooks Hole #2). Both Men's & Ladies locker rooms - Brand new Sauna. Entire practice facility equipped with both a chipping and putting green as well as a Driving Range.
The facility is Private - so you must be a member, guest of a member, pre-arranged non-local guest, or playing in an event at the Club to use the facilities.
Each year CCC hosts some of Minnesota's most successful golf tournaments and corporate outings. In addition, there have been millions of dollars in fundraisers held at the country club over the years, giving back to various non-profits throughout our community.
