Ashley and Anthony Anderson, a local couple with strong ties to the community, are the proud new owners of Washington Ave. Laundry and Car Wash, located at 1802 Washington Avenue. Purchased as an investment, this local business blends convenience, comfort, and community service—and remains a locally owned operation since its original construction in 1977.
Anthony, owner of AM Mechanical Plumbing and Heating, brings his expertise to the facility’s ongoing maintenance and upgrades. “It’s been convenient being a professional mechanical, plumbing, and heating contractor in addressing maintenance needs of the building,” he shared. Ashley balances her time working at Essentia Health while helping to manage and promote their new business venture.
Day-to-day operations are managed by Anthony’s mother, LeeAnn, who is on-site five days a week and oversees a dedicated team of five employees. The facility is open seven days a week, offering Cloquet residents a clean, reliable space for laundry and self-serve car wash needs.

Upon touring the facility, visitors are welcomed into a cozy environment complete with free coffee, Wi-Fi, television, and vending machines stocked with snacks, soda, candy, and detergent.
In addition to self-serve laundry equipment, Washington Ave. Laundry offers a drop-off laundry service perfect for busy professionals, local contractors, or anyone needing help with bulky items like comforters and bedding.
“Our drop-off laundry is perfect for contractors in the area that don’t have time or access to laundry facilities. We’re here to help,” said Ashley.
🚗 Car Wash Convenience
The car wash features six indoor self-service bays and one outdoor bay designed to accommodate recreational vehicles and large trucks. Wash time is simple and affordable—$4 tokens (or quarters) buy five minutes of access to all equipment in the self-service bays. Forgot cash? No problem—tokens and quarters are available inside the laundry building using a debit or credit card.
To enhance your vehicle-cleaning experience, the car wash also offers prepackaged Armor All wipes, microfiber towels, and air fresheners for purchase.
Ashley and Anthony are committed to maintaining the facility as a friendly, community-focused business that continues to serve Cloquet residents with pride and reliability.
